Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

"I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation."

So began Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his "I Have a Dream" address at the March on Washington on the 28th of August 1963. As TIME notes in their MLK photo essay:

"King's unique vision reshaped the landscape of American politics and society. In his brief life, he redefined what it means to be black in the United States, and, by extension, what it means to be an American."
In the United States, today is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - a holiday marking the birthdate of the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr., observed on the third Monday of January each year. It is an ideal time for people around the US/world to reflect on how far our nation/planet has come in regards to universal equality and to consider how far we still have to go.

I made a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day video that I think EVERYONE will enjoy. It’s really short, and should put a smile on your face.
