M.I.A. to perform at 2007 Siren / new video for "Boyz"

The very recent addition of M.I.A. (along with Cursive and White Rabbits) to the Siren Festival makes the annual concert's 2007 lineup slightly more appealing. I just want to know how she's going to convey (in person) this new 'blast your eyes with wicked craziness and colors' look that's currently populating her new site, cover art for upcoming album Kala, and video for "Boyz".

Just saying... I hope she's headlining the show, playing at night, and that the audience needs to wear sunglasses because the stage is so damn bright and vibrant in an NES menu screen meets early DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince kind of way.

M.I.A. - "Hit That"

Thanks to Fader's blog for unearthing this new rump shakin' M.I.A. track. It's set to appear on her new album Kala and should be a pretty decent track for you guys to bump while enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend (though I'd bet that it might not last you much past the weekend). While it sounds like more of the same from Maya Arulpragasam (mixed with a bit of a Missy Elliot vibe), the added Wreckx-N-Effect shout outs and lyrics you can't help but sing along to should be enough to make you thirsty for more new M.I.A. - don't worry, the new album should be out in time for some warm weather fun at the end of the summer.
