Live music downloads from Archive.org

Archive.org has always had a bunch of live music available for free (and legal) in MP3, Flac, and Ogg Vorbis formats. It was often a source of shows back when EAR FARM used to feature Weekend Live Music on Saturdays, and is a site worth checking out if you haven't yet. Want proof?

Ol Blue Eyes gets love as Kaki King, Faith, MuthaWit and others play URB ALT Fest 07!

June 30, New York, NY - The third night is indeed the charm as URB ALT Festival 2007 rolls into Harlem's Shrine World Music Venue in homage to the chairman ofthe board, Frank Sinatra. In two short years the URB ALT Festival has become known for programming ecletic bills of national and underground artists who are on the creative edge of music and film. This exciting July 7th show features the alternative electronica/rock/folk guitar
virtuosity of Kaki King; the reggae/post rock musical mojo of Faith; the jazz/rock avant garde experiments of the Monika H. Band; the electronica infused funk/rock of OMG; the tantric blues skronk of Devi; the computer generated animations of Italy based visual artist Roy Lagrone; the 3d animations of "Harbinger" feature film director Tim Fielder; and the alien big band arrangements of the MuthaWit
Orchestra. All musical artists will be playing their original work as well as a composition from the Frank Sinatra songbook.

URB ALT Festival founder Boston Fielder says "Frank Sinatra was a multi-disciplinary giant throughout his career. Pass all of his artistic achievements I've always admired how he was able to build bridges between races, generations, class and religions." Exciting artists such as Faith and Kaki King are cultivating similar cross-cultural audiences. Faith's rocking reggae pulse and earthy androgynous vocals have garnered raves in the NY Times and Village Voice. Kaki King's bravura guitar technique has taken her from busking in the subways of NYC to the halls of the Letterman and Conan O'Brien shows. Her performance at the Shrine will be supported musically by the MuthaWit Orchestra.
