Giants fly high, slay "the giant" 17-14 to win the Super Bowl

Perfect.

Not 19-0 perfect; but a perfect catch (above), a perfect performance from the Giants defense, a perfect on-the-field response to Tom Brady's laughter at the notion of the Pats being held to 17 points, and the perfect ending* to (perhaps) the greatest Super Bowl ever.

Big ups and congrats to the NY Giants who simply beat the crap out of the stunned Patriots for four straight quarters.

Listen:
"New York Giants (Featuring M.O.P.)" by Big Punisher
"We Fly High (N.Y. Giants Remix)" by Jim Jones

Give us your thoughts on the game, the musical performers, and/or the commercials in the comments below. For me, Jordin Sparks did an amazing job and Tom Petty was solid to very good. The commercials, I thought, weren't so great. And lastly, can I take a moment right now to suggest Van Halen as the halftime entertainment for next year? Just do it.

*perfect, that is, if you're either a NY Giants fan, or just simply a person who loves to believe in the ability of the underdog to beat the "better" team.

"This was the death of a dynasty!" the veteran linebacker (Michael Strahan) yelled over the roaring Giants fans who would not, could not leave. "We wore all black, and we killed it."

Classy as always Giants.

Needless to say I had no interest in writing today's Super Bowl recap post.

And where were all the Eli-loving Giants fans during the regular season?

Bah. I feel so sick

Well there we have it! Not as great as the 72 Fins for undefeated and not quite a 4 championship dynasty like my Steelers!

As much as I hate the Patriots it was refreshing to see them all take there loss like men in interviews after the game. All except Belicheat who is the worst sore loser in history.

Watch out for us next year New England.

Go Steelers!

Where were we? My family has season tickets and I'm a Giants fan for life and we were at every game but theres not been alot to love about this Giants team until about 6 weeks ago when things started clicking. Its called momentum and we were on the upside of it, sorry for the Pats to catch the short end of it. Wait I'm not sorry they won 3 Super bowls and won 18 games this year. All the games except the one that mattered!

WE BEAT THE BEST TO BE THE BEST!

GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Classy is cheating?

Classy is running the score up in the regular season against subpar competition?

Classy is walking off the field with one second left and not coming back?

Classy is laughing in the face of Plaxico's prediction before going out to prove him more than right?

Classy is Richard Seymour telling Giants players that they "should be ready to go home" before their last drive?

Classy is stooping to the level of Merriman to mock his patented celebration?

Classy is the way that this Patriots team carried themselves all season as if they were the best ever when in fact they're nothing more than another bunch of losers?

Give me a break. These Patriots finally got their due. And just like a bully who is finally stood up to both the coach, the team and their fans can't handle it and they just want to cry. Well you lost. Once.

Boo hoo.

17-14 GO GIANTS!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Tom Petty's performance was good. It was nice that it was a simple performance. Very regular-concert-like. No dancers, no set changes, very little frills. Thought the big flying V penetrating the heart(stage) was pretty hot.

A discussion I was having with a friend: What current artist could be worthy of a half time show these days? The criteria is that it has to be someone who has reached their apex of popularity within the last 5-10 years, is univeresally loved, and is upbeat/energetic. We came up with Beyonce with guest appearances by Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Anyone else under the age of 40 you can think of?
