Evangelicals - just the facts ma'am

I've heard that online readers are notoriously lazy. Short attention spans and such. Still with us? Okay good, let's keep this short and sweet then. EAR FARM likes Evangelicals and so should you. Here are the FACTS:

FACT 1: Their new album The Evening Descends comes out next Tuesday, January 22nd, on the Secret Canadian and Jagjaguwar sister label Dead Oceans.

FACT 2: You can stream it in its ENTIRETY over at their MySpace page until next Monday.

FACT 3: Those residing in the band's hometown of Norman, OK, take notice: Evangelicals will be playing a free CD release show on January 24th at the University of Oklahoma's Meacham Auditorium.

FACT 4: Evangelicals will be playing TWO NYC-area shows next month - Sunday Feb. 24th at Mercury Lounge and Friday, Feb. 29th (Leap Day) @ Union Hall, both with Illinois-based trio Headlights. So far, only Union Hall tix are available online, you can get them HERE.

FACT 5: Actually, not fact at all but complete conjecture. Amateur sleuthing led us to find Evangelicals playing Schuba's in Chicago on March 7th with nary a date scheduled again until March 29th. We're guessing loads of SXSW dates will be in the cards betwixt these two....

FACT 6: The first single off The Evening Descends, "Skeleton Man", is available for download all over the place, including right here on EF.

I write to you from the distant shores of Rio de Janeiro. I was surfing the net looking for mp3 blogs when I found yours. Since I have a band I thought I should write to ya.

Hope you hear Homens do Pântano in our myspace page (in a free-translation The Swamp Men) and if you like it post some commentaries in your blog. Our tunes are rap-rock based mixed with some crazy samba-dub. Oh well, only you can judge by yourself. Hope you like it. Gonna also check your suggestions.

Cheers from Rio de Janeiro,

Tandera (www.myspace.com/homensdupantano)
