all these 8+ songs, and not a single mention of Yes? im hurt. insulted, hurt and disappointed. i feel like someone who drafted randy moss onto his fantasy football team.

oh there will be Yes. just you wait.

there will also be some Pink Floyd, The Doors, and Genesis (among many other classic rock artists still to be addressed) so stay tuned to EF's 8+ for your long song nerdfix.

There's a version of "Bluebird" released on a Buffalo Springfield retrospective back in the early 70s that clocks in at 9:00. It's awesome -- but, for whatever reason, Neil doesn't seem to remember it fondly, so it's unavailable on CD. It would make an EXCELLENT post here.

As would some Genesis, Floyd, King Crimson, and many other bands of that time.

Thanks!

What an amazing idea. Here are some of my fave 8+ tunes:

Gillian Welch - Dream A Highway (14:40)
Ride - Leave Them All Behind (8:18)
Propellerheads - OHMSS (9:21)
Stereolab - Metronomic Underground (9:23)
Stone Roses - Fools Gold (9:55)

Who - Won't Get Fooled Again (8:33)
Decemberists - Mariner's Revenge Song (8:46)
FPM - There Must Be and Angel (9:18)

And I gotta wonder, if Live tracks don't count, should re-mixes?

If there is something that makes me feel rejuvenated, its a song. I love all sorts of songs, except rocks and hip-hop due to too much noise. I like them all the same, and more so when a song could even be 10 mins and over. I like what "The 8+ list' is doing. LED Light Bronze Downlight Great piece of writing.
